2021 ROAD TO COOPERSTOWN SKILLS COMPETITION - PRESENTED BY TOP 100 SPORTS USA

Welcome to the ROAD TO COOPERSTOWN Baseball Tournament – presented by CHAMPIONS EVENTS.

TOP 100 SPORTS will conduct Three (3) Skills Competitions (weather & schedule permitting) beginning at 6:30 pm.

Champions Events will crown One (3) Individual Skills and One (1) Team Competition Winner.

Awards will be presented to each winner immediately after the finals!

CHAMPIONS “ROUND THE BASES”- PLAYER CHALLENGE- FASTEST TIME WINS

One player from each team Lines up inside the right side batter’s box. Upon the officials countdown (3-2-1-GO) the runner races to 1st base, continues to 2nd base, continues and rounds 3rd base and finishes at Home Plate. Officials will be present (behind the bases) to judge any non touches of the bases.  Runner must touch Home Plate to complete time score. 5 Seconds will be added for each base not touched. TWO Fastest Times Compete in the Finals. *Final and 1st round times added together to calculate the lowest time which determines the Champion.

CHAMPIONS “ACCURATE ARM”- PLAYER CHALLENGE- HIGHEST SCORE WINS

One player from each team gets five (5) throws from the centerfield area, approximately 110 feet, to home plate. Each throw will receive a score based upon accuracy. Top TWO Scores competes in the Finals for the TOP 100 SPORTS skills trophy.

CHAMPIONS “HOMERUN DERBY”- PLAYER CHALLENGE- HIGHEST SCORE WINS

One player from each team gets TEN (10) hits. Each HIT will receive a score based upon distance. Top TWO Scores Competes in the Finals for the TOP 100 SPORTS skills trophy.

CHAMPIONS “ROUND THE HORN + PLUS” - TEAM CHALLENGE- FASTEST TIME WINS

Nine (9) players will compete from each team. Each base must be tagged. Teams will compete in assigned order. NO PASSING WILL BE ALLOWED. (Players may tag base with glove or any part of the body!)

  • The PITCHER throws the Baseball to the CATCHER. (The team's time begins when the CATCHER tags home plate.) If the catcher misses home plate a 5 second penalty is assessed.

  • The CATCHER must throw the ball to the THIRD BASEMAN tagging third base.

  • The THIRD BASEMAN must throw the ball to the SECOND BASEMAN tagging second base.

  • The SECOND BASEMAN must throw the ball to the FIRST BASEMAN tagging first base.

  • The FIRST BASEMAN must throw the ball to the CATCHER tagging home plate.

  • The CATCHER must throw the ball to the SHORTSTOP tagging second base.

  • THE SHORTSTOP must throw the ball to the RIGHT FIELDER and throwing the ball to the SECOND BASEMAN tagging second base.

  • THE SECOND BASEMAN must throw the ball to the CENTER FIELDER and throw the ball to the THIRD BASEMAN tagging third base.

  • THE THIRD BASEMAN must throw the ball to the LEFT FIELDER who then throws the ball to the CATCHER covering home plate.   (The team's time ends when the CATCHER tags home plate.) (Outfielders must stay behind cones on all throws or 5 second penalty- each offence)

A five second penalty will be assessed for each umpire-assisted overthrow and each missed base including home plate.

The lowest team score declared Champion and wins the TOP 100 SPORTS skills trophy.
